Meaning, the results will be measured by the amount of work put in.
The definition explains more than enough. You will agree with me when I say that, being productive can be difficult. Many times we find ourselves complaining about how we haven't achieved anything in a day or even a month because we weren't more productive.
You need to come up with strategies to become productive effectively, you need to step out of your comfort zone and make the most of your time.
1. Set goals daily
This might not sound ideal because most people prefer having a plan in their heads and just going for it randomly without any order. You need to understand that you are only human filled with a lot of thoughts and things to do. As soon as you talk to three to four people you will have forgotten about the plans that you kept in your head, therefore it is significant that you set your goals. What is it that you want to accomplish on that day? I once read an article that had a provoking to-do list that you might want to check out. Or better still, you can get a goal-tracking app.
2. Identify your productive time
We have a different capacity of thinking and understanding. Back when I was in university, I would skip my lunch to go through class work because during lunch hour was the time I understood better and I knew it was the best time to get hold of lecturers. Understand how your brain works, and find a time that best works for you in all aspects. Some people are more productive in the early hours of the day, some prefer the late hours of the day but, it has to be a time when you have fewer distractions and are not occupied with other thoughts.
3. Prioritize your priorities
It's not about the amount of time you have, it's about how you choose to spend it. No one is ever too busy for anything unless it is not at the level of their priorities. No matter how little someone's time is, if something is a priority to them, they will make sure they find time for it. Identify what is a priority to you and stop at nothing to work on it no matter how busy you are.
4. Create a routine
When you are used to doing something, you will remember to do it all the time even subconsciously. Develop particular habits that will help you be productive and not waste time on things that don't matter, for example, if someone parties every weekend, it becomes a routine to them that, even when they are caught up with something else on the weekend, their brain is still focussed on going to party or club. Develop a routine that will keep you productive and focused on your goals.
5. Avoid multitasking
Some prefer multitasking but at the end of the day, they find out they have accomplished nothing. Rihanna's song One Step at a Time explains part of it. Work on everything at its own time, work on one thing, complete it and move on to the next, by doing so, you will realize that you have accomplished more perfectly. Working on everything at once just ruins the quality of your work, and as a result, your work becomes valueless.
Own your time, take charge and produce something every day.
